Hohenfels Tigers show school pride during homecoming bonfire

USAG BAVARIA – HOHENFELS, Germany – Students of Hohenfels Middle / High School celebrated homecoming with an evening bonfire Sept. 24, 2026 at the installation’s Festplatz.

Students, faculty, Family members and other members of the community surrounded the pyramidal pyre as the president and vice president of the student council, along with members of the installation’s fire prevention team, set the bonfire – safely – ablaze.

The different classes of the school created banners and performed a march from the school’s quad to the Festplatz, accompanied by the marching band. Private organizations associated with the school served food and drink, while parents chatted near the warmth of the fire.

The fire prevention team kept tabs on the fire as gentle winds wafted sparks up into the moonlit sky.

The HMHS Tigers faced off against the Brussels Unit School Brigands in a Saturday game Sept. 26.
